If you’ve got a printer configured on one device and want to print from another device, you can do so by sharing the printer to the network. This will pass the printer connection details through the connected PC to the networked computers, allowing them to print.

To share a network printer in Windows 10 you need to open the Settings app and go to Settings > Devices > Printers and scanners, and click on the printer you want to share.

Note: This tutorial assumes that you have networked the computers together.

Select the printer to share.

Once you’ve selected the printer to share, click Manage and then Printer properties. In the printer properties move to the sharing tab and tick the box to “Share this printer”.

Enable sharing the printer.

Once you’ve saved the updated settings, the printer will be available for discovery on the network.

Tip: If the printer is not discoverable on the network, ensure that all computers are configured to have network discovery and file and printer sharing enabled. These settings are located in: Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Centre > Advanced sharing settings.
