How to Take a Selfie Without Touching Your Phone

Judy SanhzApril 9, 2021 Comments (1)

When you take a selfie, you want it to come out perfect. The last thing you want to see in your selfies is it coming out blurry. Maybe someone made you lose your balance, or maybe you had shaky hands; either way, a retake is necessary. But, you can avoid a blurry selfie by taking them without having to touch your phone.

Nowadays, it’s possible to take any pictures without having to have your phone in your hands. Some use selfie sticks, or they use the methods you’ll see in this guide. You can discard having to erase a selfie without touching your phone due to it coming out blurry.

Use the Timer to Take a Selfie

This is a feature you can find on pretty much all of today’s phones. All you have to do is place your phone on a stand that can help point your phone in the right direction and wait for the countdown to finish. To access the timer, open the camera app, and the timer icon should be at the top. Tap on the timer icon and choose the time you want.

If you go into your camera’s settings, you can also use the feature to take the picture when it detects a smile. Maybe the timer doesn’t have the time options you need. By having the camera take the picture when you smile, you can take as much time as you need. To access the camera pp’s setting, tap on the cog-wheel at the top right. Once you’re in Settings, swipe down until you see the Auto-smile capture option.

Once you enable it, place your phone for the selfie, and all you have to do to take the picture is smile. Depending on your phone brand, the options in the camera’s settings are going to differ. For example, if you have a Samsung phone, you’ll find an option to take a selfie by simply showing the palm of your hand. On Huawei phones, you can find gesture controls, and so on.

Ask the Google Assistant to Take the Selfie

If you have the Google Assistant set up, you can ask Google to take the selfie for you. That way, if someone smiles off cue, you won’t have a bunch of selfies you’re going to erase anyway. Say, “Ok, Gooogle, take a selfie.” As soon as you say the magic words, your camera app will open, and you’ll have a few seconds to show Google your best smile. It’s that easy.

Selfie Camera with Timer, Effects, Filter, and Voice

Third-party apps usually offer features that your integrated camera app doesn’t. For example, an app called Selfie Camera with Timer, Effects, Filter, and Voice offers some useful features. For example, you can choose how many continuous selfies you want and how much time you want in between selfies. That way, you have enough time to change your angle. Simply use the sliders and adjust them to your liking.

To access these settings, tap on the timer icon at the bottom right, and you’re good to go.

Conclusion

As you can see, there are various ways you can take a picture without having to have the phone in your hand. You can relax knowing that the picture will still be taken if you don’t tap on the right button. The method you choose will depend on what you want your selfie to have, for example, filters.
