April 16, 2021 by Judy Sanhz Leave a Comment

Being able to see your notifications and other data on your Android lock screen is very convenient. You can see the info you just received without having to unlock your phone. This is perfect when you’re just too lazy to even unlock your phone. But, there is info that should never appear on your lock screen. The following guide will show you how you can prevent the wrong information from appearing there and what information should appear.

Some people don’t add security to their phones, so they are easier to access when you’re in a hurry. But, it’s better to be safe than sorry and add one. To keep sensitive data from appearing on you’re lock screen, you’re going to need one. Depending on the Android device you have, the steps might be slightly different, but try going to Settings > Security > Screen lock. If your phone has an option to hide the pattern you add, it’s a good idea to enable it.

How to Stop Showing Sensitive Info on Your Android Lock Screen

The steps to stop showing sensitive information on your lock screen might vary depending on the device you have. That’s why I’ll show you the possible steps that your model might count on to access this feature. You can try going to:

  • Settings
  • Sound and Notification
  • When device is locked
  • Hide sensitive information content

Or you can try (for Samsung Devices):

  • Settings
  • Lock Screen and Security
  • Notifications on Lock screens
  • Content on Lock screen
  • Hide Content

For Oneplus on Android 10:

  • Settings
  • Apps and Notifications
  • Notifications
  • Lock Screen
  • Don’t show notifications

Huawei with Android 10:

  • Settings
  • Notifications
  • Lock screen notifications
  • Do not show

Motorola with Android 10

  • Settings
  • Display
  • Advanced
  • Lock screen display
  • Lock screen
  • Show sensitive content only when unlocked

Disable Android App Notifications

If what you want to hide is not exactly sensitive information but notifications from an app. You can always disable the app notifications for that specific app. You can do this by going to:

  • Settings
  • App and Notifications
  • See all X apps
  • Swipe and choose the app whose notifications you want to disable
  • Notifications
  • Toggle off the show notifications option

Conclusion

By not showing any kind of info on your lock screen, spying eyes will not have anything to see. Also, by turning off notifications for specific apps, you can prevent anyone who got a lock at your lock screen from knowing things you might not want them to know.
