Enjoy all your LG G4 smartphone has to offer on a bigger screen. You can connect your LG G4 to a TV or projector with these options.
Option 1 – HDMI SlimPort
The LG G4 supports a hard wired connection to a TV via HDMI SlimPort adapter and the micro USB port.
- Purchase a SlimPort adapter if you don’t have one already.
- Connect a standard HDMI cable between the SlimPort adapter and the HDMI port your TV or projector.
- Connect the micro USB connector on the SlimPort adapter to the LG G4.
- Connect the power cable to your phone to the adapter and ensure it is plugged into a wall outlet.
Your device will be mirrored on the display. Audio will be routed as well.
Option 2 – Miracast
Mirror your device wirelessly to any device that supports Miracast.
If you have a projector or TV that supports Miracast, you can mirror your LG G4 screen wirelessly. If you’re not sure if your TV or projector supports Miracast, have a look at the MHL Device List.
If your TV or projector does not support Miracast, you can connect a device such as the Amazon Fire TV or Belkin Miracast Adapter to the HDMI port of your TV or projector to make it Miracast capable.
Ensure the Miracast TV/adapter and LG G4 are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, then select “Settings” > “Networks” > “Share & connect” > “Miracast“, and switch “Miracast” to “On“.
Option 3 – Chromecast
- If you do not have a smart TV that supports Chromecast, you can purchase a Chromecast and connect it to the HDMI port on your TV.
- Ensure the Chromecast and LG G4 are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Install the Chromecast app on the LG G4.
- Follow the wizard to setup your device with your TV.
- Open an app that supports Chromecast, then choose the “Cast”
button from within the app.
Option 4 – DLNA
If you have a media server that supports DLNA, you can connect your LG G4 to it and share photos, video, and music with it using these steps.
- Open “Settings” > “Networks” > “Share & connect” > “Media server“.
- Check the “Content sharing” box.
- Select the G4 in the list.
- Check the “Content to share” box, then select the types of media you wish to share. Select “OK” when you are done.

Same problem here. The only new item added into the equation is the Slimport. HDMI cable and Micro USB both have be working. HDMI works between PC HDMI port and monitor and Micro USB is used to charge the phone via phone charger.
Anthony, stated: “connecting things I the right order or one of your connections or wires is bad”
What would be the “correct” order, or at least might be the preferred order.
Oops, I found this in the description
1. Connect SlimPort adapter and to the TV or projector.via the HDMI cable
2. Connect SlimPort adapter to the micro usb on the phone
3. Power the slimport by connecting a 5V micro USB cable into the Slimport’s Micro USB port.
I have done all of these to no avail. Suggestions.
– Do I need to run an App on the phone to redirect output to the micro USB port?
– Any way to test the signal from the HDMI port on the Slimport?
Thanks again in advance,

Will the LG Stylo 4 work with a Slimport
Sounds like you are not doing a setting right or/and connecting things I the right order or one of your connections or wires is bad
I am having the same problem as the person before. I have the adaptor and the HDMI cord. So please help me.
Dennis: You are plain wrong. The worst it can happend if you disconnect the hdmi cable is a crash that need a restart. It should NOT happend as it is expected to be hot plugged/unplugged. The crash would be due to something mishandling the screen switching, so a software bug. The TV will NEVER have issue. The phone however may, specially some apps. There is no reset on the TV.
Harvey: I’m currently shopping for some slimport to hdmi. All I can find is some chinese junk. I wouln’t be surprised that your adapter has broke. Lots of reviews say that they breaks after a few weeks.
hdmi uses a communication protocol, just like an usb drive. When you unplug it while it is communicating something can get corrupted so it won’t work anymore. Always turn off tv before unplugging hdmi cables to be sure.
To fix your problem you’ll probably need to reset your tv, there should be a setting for it somewhere. Good Luck!
I recently got an lg g4and purchased the appropriate slimport supporting my phone/model. Everything worked fine for about a week and a half. Just yesterday i connected my phone to the tv as usual and now the tv states no signal. I changed power outlets, the hdmi ports, did a soft reset of the phone, restarted the tv – anything i could think of that would explain why the tv is no longer receiving the signal from the phone. Nothing. Considering both the phone and the Slimport are less than 2 weeks old what could possibly explain the issue since it used to work? I can’t remember whether there was any setting our permission i had to do on the phone and the tv recognizes the hdmi cable. Suggestions?
