How to Change Your Discord Name

How to Change Your Discord Name

June 26, 2023 by Andrew Myrick Leave a Comment

Having a Discord username is essential for several reasons, as it serves as your unique identifier on the platform and enables you to interact with other users and communities. Until recently, your Discord username included a four-digit discriminator, distinguishing you from other users on the platform, and making it easier for friends and acquaintances to find and recognize you.

However, Discord has recently made a rather drastic change, removing the four-digit discriminator. According to the blog post announcing the changes, one of the primary reasons for removing the discriminator is that “more than 40%” of Discord users “either don’t remember your discriminator or don’t even know what a discriminator is.” Because of this, is now making it possible for you to change your Discord name without needing to worry about remembering the four-digit discriminator.
