Snapchat is not the only app that can offer funny filters to share with friends. Google Meet is a great option when you need to get together with friends, co-workers, or family. But the app is also a great option to get a good laugh.

Google Meet offers some fun animal filters you can use, but make sure that you’re using the latest version of the app. So, make sure that the app is up to date so you can enjoy these filters. Also, keep in mind that these filters are only available on Google Meet for Android and iOS.

How to Add Animal Filters to Google Meet Meetings

The good news is that applying these fun animal filters is that they’re available to all. You don’t have to have any paid subscription; you can use these filters even with a free account. So to start using the filters, start a Google Meet meeting as your normally would.

You can go for a scheduled meeting or start an instant meeting. Make sure that you start the meeting with the camera-enabled. In your video thumbnail box, you’ll see icons that look like stars.

After you tap on the option, you’ll be taken to the Effects section. The first effects you can try are to blur your background. You can choose from low to high blur. Swipe left for various background options such as books, a beach, mountains, sky, and many more.

If swiping left takes too long, you can also tap on the filters option all the way to the right. The app will skip all the previous options and show you all the filters you can use. You can use fun filters such as:

  • Dog
  • Robot
  • Elephant
  • Circus
  • Frog
  • Sleeping teddy bear
  • Octopus
  • Fireflies
  • Tiger

  • Space
  • Jellyfish
  • Cat
  • Fox
  • Hearts
  • Fries
  • Cactus
  • Fish
  • Dinosaur
  • Flower
  • Vintage computer
  • One-eyed monster

You need to be looking at the camera when you choose the new filter, or else it won’t be applied. You can also upload a picture from your device’s gallery to use as a background. Simply tap on the plus option that’s located right before the background options. Choose the image you want to use, and it’ll be uploaded and used instantly as your new background.

If you want to stop using the animal filters, tap on the X located right above the thumbnails.  You will still have the image as your background when you leave, and the star icon will now be colored.

How to Turn off Animal Filters on Google Meet

To remove any filter or background, just follow the steps you took to get there in the first place and choose the No Effects option. Remember to:

  • Tap on the colored stars
  • Tap on the no effects option

That’s all there is to it. Hopefully, more options will be added soon, so you always have fun filters to choose from.
