When you’re in a large meeting, you might like to be able to see everyone. That you can make sure that everyone is paying attention or is at least present. But, by default, you might only see 25 participants. The good news is that you can change this in Zoom’s settings.
Seeing everyone’s video per page is called Gallery View. You can see everyone regardless if they have their camera on. If the camera is off, you’ll only see their name, but they will have their space in Gallery View. By going to Settings > Video > Hide non-video participants, you can hide participants’ boxes that don’t have the video.
How to View 49 Participants in Gallery View
To view as many as 49 people in the gallery view, you’ll need to go into Zoom’s settings. Click on the cogwheel, followed by the Video option on the left. Scroll down until you see the option that allows you to choose the number of participants in the gallery view.
When you go to the section, you see that these options are not available, which means your computer does not meet the minimum requirements for the option. If you’re only using one monitor, the requirements are:
Supported processors for single monitor
- Intel i5
- 4 cores or higher
- 4th generation or higher
- Intel i7, i9, Xeon
- 2 cores or higher
- Intel Atom
- 6 cores or higher

- 3.0GHz or higher
- AMD Ryzen 5 series
- Supported processors for dual monitors

If you’re going to use Zoom on your Android device, you can only see a maximum of four people per page. You’ll always see the speaker first, but by swiping left, you’ll see more users. On iPad, you can see a total of nine people. It’s also possible to re-arrange the thumbnails around as long as you’re the host or co-host. If you’re the host, you can allow other users to do it too.
How to Switch Between Zoom Views
When you’re in a Zoom meeting, you’re not stuck with the first view you see the meeting in. There are different views to choose from. For example, you can choose from:
- Immersive View – Here, you can see everyone in a background that’ll make you feel like you were back in the office. There are different options to choose from depending on the number of participants.
- Speaker View – The person talking will always appear in the middle in the biggest video. You can still see everyone in a small grid to the side. There’s also a 6 thumbnail grid or a vertical one. You can also have everyone’s thumbnails appear right above the speaker.
- Gallery View – You can see various users in various video thumbnails. By clicking on the thumbnail and dragging it elsewhere, you can re-arrange the order of the thumbnails. To switch between pages, click on the arrow to the side of the page.
It’s also possible to see other Zoom participants when someone is sharing their screen, but only if you use the Side-by-side mode. You can access this option by clicking on the View Options dropdown menu. The side-by-side mode will be the last one.
Conclusion
The more people you see in a meeting, the better. You can see a total of 49 participants if your computer meets the minimum requirements. How do you like to view your Zoom meetings? Let me know in the comments below and don’t forget to share the article with others on social media.

My laptop has an i5-5200u processor and the option for 25 or 49 participants is not available. Why?
