How to Create a WhatsApp Call Link

How to Create a WhatsApp Call Link

October 20, 2022 by Judy Sanhz Leave a Comment

WhatsApp is slowly adding the features that its users are asking for. It recently added the option to hide your online status, and now you can easily create a call link so others can join in. You can create a call link where up to 32 participants can join. It’s been a month since this feature was announced, and now it should be sitting in your Whats App settings.

How to Generate a WhatsApp Call Link

Thanks to the call link feature, it will be easier for other WhatsApp users to join in on your calls. You can choose whether you want the call to be a voice or video call. You’ll need to go to the Calls tab on your WhatsApp to create your call link. To get started, open WhatsApp and open the Calls tab. Tap on the Create call link option.

At the top, you’ll see your call link. If you quickly tap on it, the call will start. But, if you long-press, the share options will appear, for you can share the information using another app. Below the link, you’ll see the option to change the call type.

There will also be different ways you can share the call ink. You can choose from options such as:

  • Send link via WhatsApp
  • Share link

Just because you tap on the link to join, it doesn’t add you automatically. You’ll be placed in a type of waiting room where you can leave or join the call. Once you join the call, you can see how many people are on the call to see if you’ve reached the limit or not. You can also switch cameras and turn off video and audio. As long as the call is going on, others can join.

All the group calls will appear in your call log. The regular one-on-one calls will have arrows, but the group calls will have a link icon to identify them. The people who join have a green arrow, and those who don’t will have a red arrow. Also, don’t forget that you can add more participants by tapping the Add participant option at the top of the list.

Conclusion

Privacy is a concern with this link since it can be shared with anyone. But that’s where the host will need to tell everyone not to share the link with anyone, and hopefully, everyone will play nice and not share it with anyone they shouldn’t. What are your thoughts on the call links? Let me know in the comments below, and don’t forget to share the article with others on social media.
