At one time or another, you might experience a traumatic incident that renders you unable to provide information to first responders or police offers. Even if you have your license or identification on your person, that isn’t as helpful as being able to provide emergency contact information. Thankfully, there is a way to do just that, including those who just picked up the Galaxy S22.
How to Add Emergency Contact on Galaxy S22
Because the Galaxy S22, and Samsung phones in general, use a different flavor of Android (called One UI), you’ll need to navigate to a different area if you want to add emergency contact on Galaxy S22. Luckily, it’s not hard to find, as you just need to dive into the Settings app to add the right information.
- Open the Settings app.
- Scroll down and tap Safety and emergency.
- Tap Emergency contacts.
- Select from one of the Suggest contacts, or tap the Pencil icon.
- If you tap the Pencil icon, tap the Add member button.
- Locate and select the contact that you wish to add.
- Tap Done at the bottom of the page.
- Tap Save in the bottom right corner.
Now, whenever you are in an accident, the emergency contact can be identified and reached. First responders and emergency personnel will be able to know the name and phone number (at the very least) of your emergency contact so that they can be reached.
How to Add Medical Info to Galaxy S22
Those who have a lot of allergies, or take different kinds of medications will want to add their medical information to their phone. This is also found in the Safety and Emergency section within the settings app, and allows you to add a myriad of different bits of information so that emergency personnel can properly take care of you. Here’s how to add medical info on the Galaxy S22.
- Open the Settings app.
- Scroll down and tap Safety and emergency.
- Tap Medical Info.
- Tap the Pencil icon in the top right corner.
- Enter the following pieces of information:
- Medical conditions
- Allergies
- Current medications
- Blood type
- Other
- Tap the Save button in the bottom right corner.
How to Add Emergency Information on Galaxy S22 Lock screen
This one is a bit of a “cheat”, as there’s no way to have your Emergency Contact constantly displayed on your lock screen. However, you can work around this by adding a customized message to the lock screen on your Galaxy S22. Here’s how you can do so:
- Open the Settings app.
- Scroll down and tap Lock screen.
- Tap Contact information.
- Enter the information that will appear on your lock screen.
- Tap the Done button after the information is added.
Once complete, the information will appear at the bottom of your lock screen. Usually, this is reserved for providing contact information if your phone is ever lost, or if you just want to add a cute and fun message that you see whenever you look at the lock screen. No matter the reason, having your emergency information on the lock screen can go a long way to helping first responders and emergency personnel in the event that something has happened.
