Transferring your apps and data from your old Android phone to your new terminal should not take more than ten minutes. There are plenty of apps out there that promise to automatically transfer your data without any headaches. But sometimes, the unexpected happens, and you can’t access your apps on your new device. It seems that Revolut users are often affected by similar issues. Let’s dive right in and see how you can solve this problem.
I Can’t Migrate My Revolut Account to a New Phone
If You Changed Your Phone Number
The first thing you need to do is download the app on your new device and log in with your old phone number. You should then receive a text message on your old phone. Open the message and tap on the verification link. Then contact support and ask them to update your account information. Wait until they’ve associated your new number with your Revolut account. Only then can you use your account on your new device.
If You Have the Same Number
Reinstall the App
If the first login attempt was unsuccessful, uninstall the app and restart your terminal. Then wait for one or two minutes, go back online, and download the app again. Install it on your device and check if you can log in now.
Upgrade Your Android Version
Check if your new device is running the latest Android OS version. Go to Settings, select System Update, and check for updates.
Restart the device and check if you can log in to your Revolut account. If the issue persists, reinstall the app and try again.
Take a Selfie
If the app prompts you to take a selfie using the new device, follow all the on-screen instructions. Wait a few minutes until the selfie is verified, and you should be able to access your account. Rest assured, taking a selfie doesn’t mean the app will automatically open a new account. Many users decided to stop at the selfie stage, fearing the app was actually creating a new account. That’s not the case; the selfie is a simple security measure.
Add an Email Address on Your Old Phone
On your old phone, launch the app, go to Settings and add an email address to your Revolut account. Then launch the app on your new device and check if it recognizes you. You should receive an activation email prompting you to activate the account on the new device. You’ll then be asked to take a selfie using the new device.
Contact Revolut Support
If nothing’s working, contact Revolut Support. They’re always busy, so leave them a message and wait until they get back to you. You can also ping them on Twitter or Facebook.
If you used a dedicated app to automatically transfer your apps and data from your old phone to your new terminal, Revolut wouldn’t work. You need to uninstall and reinstall the app on your new device. Then take a selfie and wait until Revolut verifies your account.
