Dreamweaver is a WYSIWYG HTML editor, developed by Macromedia, that has become the standard in the Web development industry, it offers a suite of easy-to-use (but powerful) Web development tools that, in contrast to Microsoft’s FrontPage, do not introduce built-in biases that serve to restrict the Web page’s audience to Internet Explorer users.
In addition to its Web page development tools, it offers powerful site management tools. Also, the program is highly extensible; its commands are implemented utilizing JavaScript modules that can be supplemented by users with programming skills. Alternatively, they can be easily installed by downloading Web-accessible extensions. Also, it includes features that enable Web developers to make full use of Web scripting environments, including JavaScript, ASP, and PHP. See Fireworks, Flash, Microsoft FrontPage, WYSIWYG HTML editor.
