Notepad++ is a great tool for programming or just writing a quick note. I constantly have to copy and paste text in Notepad++, but it doesn’t allow me to do that if it detects links. By default, Notepad++ makes links clickable. So, when I go to select the text, it takes me to a link instead. This is aggravating.
Fortunately, there is a way to turn off the clickable links in Notepad++. In this post we’ll take you through the steps.
- In Notepad++ select the Settings menu, then choose Preferences…
- Select Cloud & Link in the left pane.
- In the Clickable Link Settings area, uncheck the Enable box to disable clickable links. Check the box to enable clickable links.
When clickable links are turned off, you can now copy and paste text easier.
