Moto G5 Plus Won’t Turn On

1. I had same problem, not booting up, tried to reset by holding the power and volume for 20 second, comes up with reload bootloader option, and then pressing power button again comes boot option, then again pressing power, started booting normally and worked. It has been more than 3 years using this phone, may be getting old.

2. Moto G5 SPlus is my model, on the back side of the handset code – XT1804 is written, my mobile Operating System is not working from 23/4/21 to till date, i tried to install but despite selecting the model, its not installing the Operating System on the handset
   All the service centre are closed due to lockdown
   Please help me

3. Hi I have a moto model number xt1675, I have tried to rest by holding the power and volume for 20 second. I have done roughly around 20 times. Every now and again the screen flashed up for a second, from the short time it it stays on the screen I can see the Android green robot and a square that say star. Is this the android system failing to reboot so not possible to fix or does that mean it will come back on and I am doing something wrong. Any help would be great.

4. Hi! I tried the steps you had listed above, and no cigar. When it’s plugged in, if I only click the volume down button, it lights up saying 100% charged. However, when I hold the volume down/power button for long periods of time, nothing happens.

   Any ideas? Please help!

   Mt moto g5 splus is not working this morning. it was working few hours agobut now it showing only black screen. When I put it on charging, only a white light is blinking at top of phone. I have pressed Volume and power button for more than 2 minutes but I didn’t get any boot screen. It isnnot working at all.
   Could you please help me with this.

13. My Moto G 5 plus lasted only two and a half years. I had handled it with utmost care, never wet or never fell. It never recovered from a software crash. It kept on showing the black bootscreen. I consulted the authorised Lenovo Motorola service center and they charged Rs 200 for the inspection and to my utter disappointment, they told me it cannot be repaired.

18. My phone locked up at the Motorola screen. I held power and volume down buttons for about 20 seconds and phone went into boot mode and I was able to restart it. Thanks!

19. After updating my MOTO G5 Plus on getting notification from Motorola the phone stopped working. It was only 15 months after its purchase. The service center quoted nearly 80% of the cost of new piece for repair as the warranty was over 3 months ago. Motorola damaged my phone by their software updates and wanted to me to pay for it. Very unethical business, I will advise nobody to buy Motorola products.

21. My Moto has been acting out until Friday that went black and I could never recover. I bought it less than a year ago, never wet, never fell, extremely well taken care.I WILL NEVER BUY A MOTO G EVER AGAIN!!!!

23. The phone stopped working in the middle of using any app constantly since 2 months, its only 6 months old!!! finally feeling frustrated and followed the instructions on the site but it still didn’t work.
    I would never ever recommend Motorola to anyone.

24. I found that on my G5plus, it was power button and volume up that did it.

25. No, tried all options and nothing is allowing my phone to turn on. It had full battery power then it crashed.

26. Nope. I think Android phones are just generally glitchy. Unless it does it constantly.

29. My Moto G5 plus was locked on a message screen, with two different msg, each on a half screen. Finally msg asked reset or wait, but would not respond at all. Then started to Power Off, but just hung up trying for several minutes! Per you instructions I was able to reset the phone & go thru a start up routine. Thanks for the help. My G5 is appx 6 mo.s old & has had one update. This last month or so it has been locking up every few days, requiring a reset. It often dials a phone number from the displayed directory without being touched. Beep alerts sound often, with no apparent cause. Must turn off the phone to make them stop. Frustrating! I’m disgusted with this almost new $300 phone… I’m guessing its software needs help! Solved my problem – Purchased a Galaxy S8 Active yesterday. G5 headed for Ebay! Beware of Moto.
