Downloading SoundCloud Songs to iPhone

Downloading SoundCloud Songs to iPhone

By Mona Leave a Comment

Without a doubt, streaming music is the most popular way to listen to music right now. Music fans can choose from dozens of different streaming platforms, either free or with a subscription, and all just a click away. While most music can be accessed directly from the internet, it can be useful to have a “hard copy” of your digital songs, whether on your phone or computer.

Having music files saved locally on your device can allow you to listen to songs, albums, or playlists at your leisure and wherever you are, regardless of whether you have access to the internet or not. People often like to use this function while traveling in a location with no WiFi, or simply while outside their home to avoid racking up data usage. It can also help prevent your listening experience from constantly being interrupted with stops and starts due to weak or slow internet.

Download Songs from SoundCloud

SoundCloud is one of the many streaming platforms, offering a variety of tracks and music streaming through both its website and mobile app (available for both iOS and Android). Known as one of the best platforms for new and independent artists to showcase their music, downloading is easy to do on the web browser site. If the song is available for free download, simply click the “Free Download” button underneath the track (or look under the “More” button), or “Buy” if it’s up for sale.

But if you want to save music from SoundCloud to your iPhone, there is a bit more to it. It’s not that complicated, but there are a few limitations and a couple of different ways to do it. Let’s walk you through a few of them.

SoundCloud Go+

SoundCloud Go+ is the paid premium subscription service for SoundCloud listeners. At $12.99 per month, it offers an ad-free experience and unlimited offline listening. You can save as many tracks as you want in order to listen whenever you wish without the internet. As a result, this is the official way to download songs from SoundCloud. There is also no limit to what type of track you can access. You can upgrade to this version from the app on your phone. If you’ve purchased the Go+ version, you can download a track by simply clicking the “Download” button below the track. If you don’t see a download button, it’s because the artist has not released it for download yet.

But while this might be convenient, $12.99 a month might be a little steep for some people. And even with this paid option, you still can’t download entire playlists, only individual songs. Lame, right? So let’s take a look at our second choice.

3rd Party Extractor

While SoundCloud Go+ is the authorized way to download songs from SoundCloud on iPhone, there is technically another way to go about the process, which is utilizing a separate platform meant to extract songs from SoundCloud for storage on your phone, usually by converting the file to an MP3. Please note that we definitely don’t encourage you to use these sites for piracy or for illegal downloads, so make sure that the music you’re downloading is free.

One example of these sites is Klickaud.co. In order to use it to download, visit the website on your phone browser, for example with Safari or Google Chrome. Then copy and paste the URL of the SoundCloud track into the converter box. You can retrieve the URL either by accessing it from the search bar on the SoundCloud site on your phone browser once you’re opened to the selected track or from the SoundCloud app, where you will tap the 3-button “more” icon under the track, hitting “Share,” and then press “Copy.”

After this, click “Convert” in order to convert the file into an Mp3 and download it to your phone. A similar process can be done with similar sites. You also have the option to download the song on your computer first through an online extractor site on a regular browser, and then transfer the Mp3 file from your computer to your phone.
