XBox 360: Enable/Disable Controller Vibration

Mitch BartlettJune 28, 2015 Comments (6)

The vibration feature can be distracting to some gamers. There is a way to enable or disable the controller vibration feature on the XBox 360 though. Here’s how it’s done.

  1. Press the Guide button (silver button in the center) on the controller.
  2. Go right on the pad until you can choose “Settings“.
  3. Toggle down and select”Preferences“.
  4. Toggle down and select “Vibration“.
  5. Clear the check from “Enable Vibration“.

FAQ

Why doesn’t my controller vibrate?

It may be low on battery power.  Try recharging it.

Is there a way to do this on the XBox One?

At this time, there is no universal controller vibration setting on the XBox One. Some games have a setting within the game menus to disable vibration or rumble.

So I’m playing skyrim right?…so I turn off the vibration in the settings because it annoying and you would think it would stay turned off right?…no, because every time I exit the settings it would turn right back on and so I reset the settings and kept enabling it and disabling it but it wouldn’t stay off… and this is really bugging me so if anyone has tips I would be relieved to hear some
