Troubleshooting Trello Not Showing Cards

Troubleshooting Trello Not Showing Cards

November 16, 2020 by Madalina Dinita Leave a Comment

Trello cards are very useful when it comes to organizing and prioritizing your tasks. You can assign cards to your team members, and sort them by the due date to make sure you meet the deadline.

But if Trello fails to show your cards, this could potentially have a severe impact on your workflow. If you’re already experiencing this problem, this guide will help you to solve it as quickly as possible.

Note: You can only view the Trello cards for which you’re a member of.

What to do if Trello Won’t Show Your Cards

Disable browser extensions

Many users confirmed they solved this problem by disabling their browser extensions.

It appears that the Plus for Trello extension often causes this issue if users click on the Less button. The Less button automatically hides your old cards, so do keep that in mind. Clicking on the More button should undo the changes and display all your cards.

If that did not work, you may want to disable the extension and then refresh your tab. If the issue persists, this indicates Plus for Trello is not the culprit, and you may need to disable all the other extensions as well.

Use the mobile app

If you can’t see all your Trello cards in the browser, try if you can access and open them via the mobile app.

If this is a temporary issue affecting only the browser version of the app, you should be able to access all of your cards in the mobile app.

Use Incognito Mode and clear the cache

One way to test if the browser cache is blocking certain Trello cards is to access the service in Incognito or private browsing mode.

new incognito window browser

If it works, this is a clear confirmation that your browser cache is the culprit. The next step is to simply clear your cache. To do this, click on your browser menu, go to History, and then select the Clear browsing data option.

After you did that, close the browser, launch it again and check if the issue is gone.

Uninstall Windows updates

There have been many reports about major Windows 10 updates that caused Trello cards and boards to become invisible.

If you noticed this problem occurred after you installed the latest Windows 10 updates, try uninstalling the respective updates and check if this workaround solved the problem.

Also, check if Microsoft officially acknowledged their latest OS updates might trigger various issues on Trello.

If nothing worked, maybe the card owner decided to delete the respective card. That may explain why you can’t find it on Trello.
