Samsung 16GB LPDDR5 Features and Specs

Posted on March 25, 2020 by Mona Leave a Comment

Samsung is further advancing the world of technology with a new device: The LPDDR5. These phones will be 1.5 times faster than the previous generation of Samsung phones and provide the user with up to 20% more power saving as well. This can enable users to reach new heights and do things faster and more efficiently than they ever would have thought.

LPDDR stands for Low-Power Double Data Rate and this means that the phones will be capable of transferring high bandwidth data at very fast speeds and will not lose battery power faster as a result of it. Bandwidth is the rate at which data is transferred across a network or through use of internet connection. Previously, phones would need to use a lot of battery power in order to transfer data but with the introduction of the Samsung 16GB LPDDR5 this is no longer the case.

Faster Speed

With 20% higher performance than previous Samsung phones, the LPDDR5 offers speeds of up to 6,400 mbps (megabytes per second) which should allow for maximum speed and performance with any apps on the phone alllowing the user to experience only the best of what they have to offer. The greater speed of the phone will reduce the loading time of most applications significantly, therefore saving time that would otherwise be wasted and make using those applications a smoother and better flowing experience without any delay or lag.

More Power Saving

The Samsung 16GB LPDDR5 comes with an operating voltage of VDD2H=1.05 V / VDDQ=0.5 V. This is what allows it to have such excellent power saving capabilities. It will offer an all day battery life because of its low power consumption. It has a high speed application processor and thistends to drain battery power fairly quickly. To counter this and give the phones a very long battery life, Samsung has implemented special engineering to lower to power usage based on the processor’s operating speed.

More RAM

This phone comes with 10nm (nanometer) 16GB LPDDR5 DRAM. This will play a big part in the overall excellent performance of the devices and the large capacity that it has the potential to withhold. This will especially allow for quality performance of applications that offer gameplay and it will also allow for smart camera features and quality.

5G Networking

This next generation of Samsung phones are expected to pack 5G networking. This means that it will be built on fifth generation networking technology allowing for large data transfers in the blink of an eye. The frequency spectrum of 5G networking is comprised of mid-band and low band millimeter waves providing frequencies above 24 GHz (Gigahertz) up to 72GHz. This enables better reach when it comes to connection to mobile networks.

AI Features

AI (Artificial Intelligence) is a feature of technology that makes intelligent machines work and react in ways that are similar to the way that humans do such as reasoning, image recognition and speech recognition. The Samsung 16GB LPDDR chips will give the phone special artificial intelligence features which give the user more uses for the phone, reducing the workload and also making different parts of the phone work in smarter ways so that the user gets the best experience possible when doing things that people would usually rely on a phone to do such as taking photos, texting, browsing and many others.

Release

Samsung has recently begun mass production of the 16GB LPDDR5 chips and will soon be implementing use of these chips in their technology. These chips are starting the new generation of highly efficient smartphones and they are expected to start the release of these phones later in 2020.
