Kindle & Kindle Paperwhite: Find MAC Address

Mitch BartlettJune 2, 2017 Comments (2)

You may need to find out what the Wi-Fi MAC Address is for your Amazon Kindle so that you can connect to a wireless network that implements MAC Address filtering. Here’s how to find it.

  1. From the Home screen, press “Menu” .
  2. Select “Settings“.
  3. Select the “Menu”  button again.
  4. The “Wi-Fi MAC Address” is located toward the bottom of the screen in the “Device Info” section.

Note: If this field shows “MAC Address not available“, you may have to connect to a Wi-Fi network to be able to see it.

    Good Day,
I’m having trouble finding my IP address for my Kindle Paperwhite. It’s weird because I have 2 wireless clients that I don’t recognize although one of them has to be my kindle but the MAC doesn’t match but the kindle is connected to my wireless and able to download new books so I’m just lost here. I have been in computers and internet since 1995 but I had to quit in 2013 due to disability( Navy Veteran PTSD) and the technology has passed me by. I can still run networks all day but I have a steep learning curve when it comes to the new stuff.
    Thanks in advance,
    David

Did not help. After pressing MENU again my options are:
    Turn Wireless Off
    Shop in Kindle Store
    Update Your Kindle (greyed out)
    Restart
    Reset to Factory Defaults
    Sync & Check for Items
