How to Invite Someone to Join Signal

How to Invite Someone to Join Signal

September 8, 2021 by Judy Sanhz Leave a Comment

Signal may not be as popular as other messaging apps like WhatsApp or Telegram, but it’s still a great option. Some users have said that they feel more secure using Signal than WhatsApp, for example.

Signal’s end-to-end encryption is one of the many features that make you want to use the app. Since it makes you feel safe, you want the same for your family and friends. That’s why you’ve probably told them about the app and maybe even tried to convince them to switch.

But if words haven’t been enough, you can try to convince them by sending them an email or text message. The good news is that the process is short and simple. So if you’ve just started using the app or you’re not too tech-savvy, you’ll still be able to do it.

How to Invite Someone to Signal Using a Text Message

To invite someone that’s not currently using Signal by text message, first, you’ll need to open the app and tap on where it says Invite Friends to Signal at the bottom.

After you tap on the option, you’ll see a link you can copy and a share option. Tap on the Share option and choose the app you usually send text messages with. Find the contact you want to share the invite with. The link invite will be pasted automatically; simply tap send. The link will appear with an image of Singla’s logo. That’s all there is to it. Now, it all depends on your contact if they want to join Signal or not.

Invite Your Family and Friends to Signal by Email

If you feel weird inviting your family and friends to Signal using text messages, you can always email. Open Signal and tap on the dots at the top right, followed by the Invite Friends option.

You can use this option, or you can tap on the Invite Friends option at the bottom. This when, after tapping on the Share option, click on the email app you usually use. The link to install signal will be pasted automatically. Hence, you only need to enter who the email is for and add a subject to your email.

Conclusion

When inviting others to join Signal, you can always send them a message on messaging apps like Telegram or WhatsApp. But, you get so used to these apps that you forget that you have other options. How do you invite your friends to start using a specific app? Let me know in the comments below, and don’t forget to share the article with others on social media.
