Galaxy Watch4: How to Reset

Mitch BartlettDecember 2, 2022 Comments (0)

The Samsung Galaxy Watch4 may start operating slowly or freeze. When this happens, you’ll need to reset the watch to resume normal operation.

If you regularly experience problems with your Galaxy Watch4, you may want to consider a factory reset.

In this post, we’ll cover how to soft reset and factory reset the Galaxy Watch4. A soft reset simply resets the watch and will not clear data from the device. A factory reset clears all data from the watch and returns it to the state it was when you first opened the box.

  • 1 Soft Reset
    • 1.1 Option 1
    • 1.2 Option 2
  • 2 Factory Reset

Soft Reset

Option 1

Press and hold the Home and Back buttons on the right side of the watch together for more than 7 seconds. This will force restart the Watch4.

Option 2

From the main watch screen, swipe down to display the quick menu, tap Turn off. Wait a few seconds then press and hold the Home button to turn the watch back on.

Factory Reset

  1. From the main watch screen, swipe upward to bring up the app list.
  2. Select Settings ⚙️ > General > Reset.
  3. If you are changing ownership of the Watch4, select Remove all mobile plans. Otherwise, tap Next.
  4. Select Back up data if you wish to back your person watch data up.
  5. Tap Reset.

You’re done. We have covered two ways to soft reset and how to factory reset the Samsung Galaxy Watch4.
