There are various security measures you can take to keep your Galaxy S21 safe. One of those is to enable the fingerprint scanner. That way, it’s impossible for someone to get into your phone. Sure, you could add a password, but if someone gets their hands on it, you can say goodbye to your privacy.

Adding or removing a fingerprint won’t take very long. Keep reading to see how you can add your fingerprint, Remove one, or check to see if a specific friend’s fingerprint has been added. You can do all this right from your phone’s settings.

How to Turn on Fingerprint Recognition – Android 11

Before adding someone else’s fingerprint, it’s a good idea to add your first. To get started, go to:

  • Settings
  • Biometrics and security
  • Fingerprints
  • Add Fingerprint

From this point on, all you need to do is follow the onscreen instructions. Once you added your fingerprint, you’re good to go. But, if you want to add someone else’s fingerprint, go to:

  • Settings
  • Biometrics and security
  • Fingerprints
  • Add fingerprint

The additional fingerprint will be labeled as fingerprint number two, Three, etc. Below the Add fingerprint option, there’s one called Check added fingerprints. This feature is useful when you’ve added a few fingerprints and can’t remember who they belong to.

Other useful features you’ll see in the fingerprints section is the option to:

  • Turn it off
  • To have it always on
  • Show the icon when the screen is off
  • Show animation when the screen is off

How to Remove a Saved Fingerprint

There might come a time when you’re going to need to remove someone’s fingerprint. If this is your case, to erase a saved fingerprint, go to:

  • Settings
  • Biometrics and Security
  • Fingerprints
  • Tap on the Fingerprint you want to remove

In the next section, you should see the Remove option at the bottom.
