Connecting Computer to Bose Frames Sunglasses

Connecting Computer to Bose Frames Sunglasses

February 17, 2020 by Mona 1 Comment

Bose Frames are non-prescription sunglasses that can be used for either fashion, sun protection or screen light reduction, listening to music, or any combination of the above! The sunglasses, however, do not offer refractive correction, but users can replace the lens with a prescribed lens to use for reading and other indoor activities.

Bose Frames are one of the more interesting technologies to have been trending from late 2019 to 2020. They are an integration of headphones and a pair of sunglasses with micro speakers at the temples that keep your hands and ears free and protect your eardrums. They’ll run most buyers around $200.

Bose Frames are available with a variety of functions and accessibility that allow users to receive phone calls, listen to audiobooks and music, or talk to voice assistants. They can also be connected to a computer to watch movies and do other general computing activities.

The sunglasses were primarily made for connecting with mobile devices and have a recommended Bose Frames connection app on the Google Play Store or Apple Store that enables seamless connection. However, this app cannot be used on a computer as it is mobile-only and Bose has unfortunately not yet released an app for connecting with computers. Fortunately, the app is not the only way to connect your Bose Frames to your personal computer. It uses the Bluetooth for connectivity, and so as long as your PC has Bluetooth built-in you should be good to go!

To check if your pc has Bluetooth drivers installed, go to settings and devices on your windows. If Bluetooth is available then your PC has Bluetooth drivers installed. Alternately, you can just type in Bluetooth in your Windows search bar. If Bluetooth pops out on your search, then your  has Bluetooth compatibility.

To connect Bose Frames to your personal computer, go to settings or control panel on your windows and navigate to devices and turn on your Bluetooth. Make sure it is set to discoverable.

Then turn on the power on your Bose Frames by pressing down the power button on the right temple. For easier use, put on the glasses before turning them on. When it powers on, an initial white light will blink twice. This means that the sunglasses are on and ready to be paired.

Then go to your PC, search and pair with the Bose Frames, and wait for them to connect. If you have renamed the sunglasses, search for the new name, but if not search for the default name: Bose Frames.

Once connected, white light blinks quickly before going off. Once this is all, you can start using tour Bose Frames to your hearts content! To move back-and-forth between tracks or play and pause in a playlist, use the media button on the right temple. Tap the button once to play or pause content, tap it twice to move to next song, and triple tap to go back to previous song.

Bose Frames auto connect after the initial pairing, so if there it was already connected to an active Bluetooth, then you’ll need to clear your Bluetooth list or turn off Bluetooth for that device. You can clear your Bluetooth by pressing and holding the right temple button till it says Bluetooth cleared. If the Bluetooth is not pairing correctly, or the audio is not coming up, turn the device off and on and try again.
