What Are ABW Files?

What Are ABW Files?

Posted on January 21, 2020 by Mel Hawthorne Leave a Comment

ABW files are AbiWord Document files – this is a format similar to Word’s DOCX, and is used by the AbiWord word processing software. Like Word, this rich text program is used to store text, images, tables and more.

How can you open ABW files?

These files primarily work with the AbiWord software suite developed by AbiSource, although other word processing programs may also be able to open and edit them. This software is available on Linux, Mac, and Windows. For other platforms, you may have to convert the file to a different filetype using an online converter.

What programs work with ABW files?

The AbiSource AbiWord software works best with this filetype, although other word processors like the LibreOffice Writer can also do this.
