What You Need to Know About Google Play Pass

Posted on September 14, 2020 by Judy Sanhz Leave a Comment

If you love to play games, then Google Play Pass is s service you definitely want to try. It’s similar to Apple Arcade, but it also has its advantages over it. Google Play Pass is also available in more countries than it was when it first launched.

It also gives you the option of enjoying a free-trial before having to pay a monthly fee. If you’re not happy with the service, you don’t have to go through the whole refund process. Let’s see what else this service has to offer.

What Does Google Play Pass Offer?

Google Play Pass offers its subscribers lots of pre-existing prominent Android games. You can get these games for free by being a subscriber; if you weren’t, then you would have to buy the app. Also, there are no in-app purchases since all of that is unlocked as a subscriber.

If you want to give the service a try, open Google Play and tap on the line menu, and tap on the Play Pass option. You can choose between the monthly or yearly play. Once you’ve verified payment, you’re good to go. If you don’t see the option, it means that the service is not available in your country yet. Don’t forget to check from time to time.

The service has over 500 apps for you to enjoy without having to buy every game you want to play since all the games available are all included in your subscription. The game list is enormous, but to give you an idea of the games you can get access to, some of the games/other apps you can play include:

  • Lumino City
  • Wayward Souls
  • Ink
  • Titan Quest
  • Ninja Hero Cats
  • Shapes
  • Cut the Rope
  • Dumb Ways to Die 2
  • Pocket City
  • Door Kickers
  • Jurassic World
  • Photo Editor
  • Pixel Lab
  • Smart Recorder
  • Fast Scanner
  • Friendly for Facebook
  • Real Guitar
  • Flashcards
  • Sleep Sounds

The list goes on and on. None of the apps you play with have ads. To see everything, Play Pass has to offer tap on the movie ticket icon at the bottom left once you’ve become a subscriber.

You’ll know you have full access to an app because you’ll see an indication that that app is included in your Play Pass subscription.

Google Play Pass is available in:

  • US
  • Australia
  • France
  • Canada
  • Ireland
  • Germany
  • New Zealand
  • Italy
  • Spain
  • UK

How Much Does Google Play Pass Cost?

You can share your subscription with up to five family members. You have the option of paying $5 a month or $30 a year with a 50% savings compared to a monthly subscription. Google Play Pass offers a one-month free-trial and sends a cancellation reminder seven days before your free trial ends.

How to Share Your Google Play Pass Subscription with Family

When you first subscribe to Google Pass, the option to share your subscription with family members is at the top. But, after a while, the choice may not be visible anymore. To share your subscription, tap on the menu lines, and tap on the Family tab at the top (you’ll need to move the tabs slightly to the left to see the Family tab).

If you already manage a family group, you’ll need to go to the main page and go to Settings. The invitations can be accepted via email or SMS. If you don’t manage a group, you’ll be asked to add a payment method. Remember that you won’t be charged for a month, but remember to go to Subscriptions and cancel before you’re charged.

Conclusion

If Google Play Pass is not what you’re looking for, after all, at least you got to try it out for a whole month before canceling. What do you think of Play Pass?
