Slack: How to Review Accepted Invitations to Your Workspace

Posted on February 16, 2021 by Mel Hawthorne Leave a Comment

Slack workspaces, especially corporate ones, can contain some sensitive information. People generally feel safe to assume that they can talk about such information on Slack. Suppose you find that one or more people have managed to gain unauthorized access to your Slack workspace. In that case, this situation needs to be addressed quickly.

One or more users could have had their account details compromised. In this case, their passwords need to be reset. The other option is that someone has been inviting unauthorized users to the workspace.

In this situation, you want to identify a list of users that have been invited that should not have been. You’ll also want to know who asked them. At the same time, you can export a full member list of your workspace for review. It is also a good idea to start reviewing the accepted invitations.

How to Review Accepted Invitations to Your Workspace

To review the invitations list to your workspace that has been accepted, you need to browse the invitation settings. Unfortunately, there’s no direct way to get there from the main Slack application.

You’ll instead need to go through the member management settings. To get there, you first need to click on the workspace name in the top-right corner. Next, in the dropdown menu, select “Settings & administration.” Then “Manage members” to open the Member management page in a new tab.

To get to the workspace settings, click on the workspace name in the sidebar, then select “Settings & administration” and “Manage members.”

Once you’re on the member management page, click on the burger menu icon in the top-left corner, then select “Invitations” from the list.

On the invitations page, switch to the “Accepted” tab. Here you can see a complete list of all invitations that have been accepted to the workspace. You can see the email address and full name of each user. Finally, you can see who invited them, and the date the invitation was accepted.

You can view the list of accepted invitations to your workspace in the “Accepted” tab of the invitation settings.

Reviewing the list of accepted invitations can be an excellent way to check that everyone who was supposed to receive an invite actually got and accepted one. You can also see that no unapproved invites have been sent and accepted. By following the guide’s steps, you can view the list of accepted invitations to your workspace. You can also see who sent the invitations.
