Find a Song by Humming on Google

Find a Song by Humming on Google

Posted on November 18, 2020 by Judy Sanhz Leave a Comment

Don’t you just hate it when you can’t remember the name of the song you hear? Sure, you can look for the song through its lyrics on Spotify, but the problem is that you can’t even remember a single word of it. The only thing you have to go on is remembering the rhythm of the song.

Apps like Shazam and Spotify won’t be of any use since you need to remember a few words of the song’s lyrics. Not to worry, there’s still hope since Google can identify a song, but you’ll need to work on your humming skills. I know I do.

How to Identify a Song When You Can’t Remember the Lyrics

If you don’t like using Google for everything, look on the bright side; at least you don’t have to install another app. You’ll be using one you already have on your phone and won’t have to use even more of your phone storage.

To name that song, open the Google app at tap on the mic icon. When you see that it says Listening, tap on the Search a song option at the bottom left. This is the part where you show off your humming skills. You’ll need to continue humming until Google shows you the results it found.

Be prepared to hum again since Google might not be able to identify the song. If you’re willing to give it another try, tap on the Try again button and go for it. That’s all there is to it. The next time you find yourself humming a song you like, you know you can use the Google app to give that sound a name.

Conclusion

The option has probably been staring you in the face for a while. But, when it’s not something you’re looking for, it can be easy to overlook. What song did Google help you name?
