Zoom: How to Communicate with Others Without Saying a Word

Zoom: How to Communicate with Others Without Saying a Word

Posted on December 16, 2021 by Judy Sanhz Leave a Comment

When the Zoom meeting you’re is entertaining, and a lot of people are talking simultaneously, it can be a challenge to get a word across. You might even be tempted to mute the participants if you’re the host.

But, there are ways to let others know you want to say something without interrupting anyone. Zoom has integrated features you can use to get a word across. Let’s see where you can find these features.

How to Express Yourself without Saying a Word on Zoom

You may need to tell everyone that you’re going to be away or that you’re going to leave the meeting. But if everyone is trying to talk simultaneously, you won’t get very far. Remember to use the chat feature to tell everyone you will leave.

Depending on how the host has things set up, you can send a message to everyone in the chat or not. Even if the chat is restricted, you’ll still be able to communicate with the host. If the chat does allow you to message anyone, be careful and double-check who you’re sending it to.

You can also use the chat to send files and add emojis to your messages to make them stand out from the rest. You can do this by clicking on the paper icon or the emoji icon.

At the top, you’re going to see an arrow pointing down. Click on it, and you can close the chat or see the chat in a separate window.

Another way you can let others know you have something to say is to raise your digital hand. You can find this option in reactions.

Conclusion

As you can see that when it comes to communicating in Zoom, you don’t always have to use audio. You have other options, such as emojis to express a feeling or other icons to indicate something to the other participants. When it comes to sharing a file, you can choose from sources such as Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, Box, Microsoft SharePoint, and your computer. How useful do you find these options?
