The Redmi Note 9 Pro is the latest budget smartphone from Xiaomi. This phone was released in March 2020 and is a beast when it comes to specs and performance, especially for its given price. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor, with Adreno 618 GPU. It has a unique design profile with Gorilla Glass 5 that makes this phone stand out in any group of smartphones. It features a 6.67-inch IPS display, that is at full HD resolution with a 16MP hole-punch camera that is under the display, that provides the screen to enjoy cinematic content by having a 20:9 aspect ratio and an 84.5% screen to body real estate.

One of the more surprising features of this phone is that it’s packed with one of the largest batteries that have been seen in any phone, even larger than the s20 ultra, at 5020mAh battery that charges at a blazing fast 18W. It also packs a 4-camera setup for excellent, high-quality videography and photography, and the main camera is capable of shooting video up to 4k 30fps.

Alternatives to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9

Since Redmi Note 9 is an extremely affordable device, other similar and viable alternatives are available in this feature set and price and is listed down below.

Vivo S1 Pro:

Vivo and Xiaomi are direct competitors in the smartphone market. The Vivo S1 Pro has a stunning 6.38-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a tear-drop notch and 19.5:9 aspect ratio gives it a 90% screen to body ratio for the ultimate viewing experience. Like the Redmi phone, this phone also has a quad-camera setup, a main 48MP camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP Macro, and a 2MP depth camera. It also has a sizeable 32MP Selfie for amazing selfies.

It runs on Funtouch 9.2 OS, which is powered by Qualcomm SDM665 Snapdragon 665 quadcore processor and Adreno 610 GPU for better performance. It features a massive 4500mAh battery with USB-C 18W fast charging and an in-display optical fingerprint scanner. It comes in 128GB+8GB configuration that is expandable up to 256GB storage, which makes it a great alternative to the Redmi phone.

Oppo F15:

Oppo F15 is an amazing alternative to the Redmi phone, which is packed with features such as an FHD AMOLED display with the screen to body ratio of 90.7% and 1000000:1 contrast ratio. It has the same quad-camera setup like the Redmi note phone with the main camera that shoots video up to 1080p 30fps and can shoot photos in the night using night mode but has a lower 2MP macro camera for portrait shots and an up-close photo. It also has a 16MP selfie camera with HDR support.

This phone is powered by Mediatek MT6771V Helio P70 7nm chipset with a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU that delivers amazing gaming and viewing performance. For security, it has an in-display optical fingerprint scanner, and it features a 4025mAh battery with USB-C 20W VOOC 3.0 fast charge that charges to 50% in 30 minutes. It comes in 128GB+8GB configuration, which is expandable.

Xiaomi Mi 9T:

The Mi 9T is from the same company as the Redmi and is an amazing alternative to the Note 9 Pro. It is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor and runs on Android 9 that is upgradable to android 10 MIUI 11. It has eye-catching Fierey dynamic design on the back with the curved design, makes it a bold choice for a phone. The display is 6.39-inch FHD AMOLED that is an edge to edge and uninterrupted due to the camera being a 20 MP pop-up selfie camera.

Unlike the Redmi phone, it only has a triple camera setup, a 48MP main camera, an 8MP telephoto camera, and a 13MP ultra-wide camera. It is powered by a 4000mAh battery that can easily last a whole day and comes with USB-C 18W fast charge, and unlike the Redmi, this phone features a quick in-display fingerprint sensor. It comes in a 64GB+6GB and a 128GB+6GB model with no expandable storage.

Realme 6:

This is one of the few phones that gives competition to the Redmi phone. The Realme 6 features a smooth 6.5-inch FHD+ 90Hz high refresh rate display with a 90.5% screen to body ratio, which is unheard of in a budget smartphone and not even included in the Redmi.

It is powered by Mediatek MT6785 Helio G90T octa-core processor with Mali-G76 GPU, which, combined with a high refresh screen, delivers a fluid-like experience in games and everyday use. It is equipped with an under-display fingerprint scanner, and it has a quad-camera setup like the Redmi but has a bigger 64MP sensor capable of night photography. It runs on Realme UI, which is based on Android 10 and a 4300mAh battery with USB-C 30W fast charging that can charge to 100% in under 55 minutes.

Helpful post! Although Redmi Note 9 is my favorite, I will definitely checkout the alternatives too. Your article helped me a lot to select the best alternative to Redmi Note 9 Pro. I would love to purchase the Vivo S1 Pro as the alternative to Redmi Note 9.
