Why Is My Android Screen Turning Purple?

Why Is My Android Screen Turning Purple?

Posted on August 6, 2021 by Madalina Dinita 4 Comments

Accidentally dropping your Android phone is one of the worst things that can happen to your device. Many users who dropped their terminals noticed that a small purple tint appeared on the screen shortly after the event. After a few days, half of the screen may turn purple and become unusable. Let’s explore why your phone’s screen is turning purple and what you can do about it.

How Do I Fix Purple Screen Issues on Android?

If your phone’s screen is bleeding purple, this indicates it’s been severely damaged. The screen has cracked internally, and the LCD fluid is seeping freely.  Unfortunately, there’s not much that you can do about it. The only solution is to replace the display.

The safest option is to go to an authorized repair shop and have your phone repaired. Most likely, you’ll need to replace the screen. Whether this is an investment worth making or not, it’s up to you to decide. If the repair cost is too high, consider buying a brand-new device. If you’re not sure what device you should buy, check out the guides below:

Keep in mind that the liquid inside the screen may take a few days to spread. Sometimes, several days may pass until the purple tint becomes visible.

If you google “purple screen on Android,” you’ll come across various so-called troubleshooting solutions. Unfortunately, restarting your device, installing the latest Android OS updates, downloading various troubleshooting apps, or resetting the device won’t help. All these steps are useless simply because a hardware problem causes the purple tint.

Try to Back Up Your Data

Although parts of the screen may become unusable, connect your phone to your computer, and try to backup your data (contacts, pics, other multimedia files, and so on). In case something unexpected happens during the repair or screen replacement process, you’ll be able to restore your data safely.

Conclusion

To conclude, if your Android phone’s screen turned purple, this means the LCD liquid is seeping freely. This problem often occurs after accidentally dropping your device on a hard surface. Since we’re talking about a hardware-related issue, the only way to fix the problem is to get a new display. Did this quick guide answer your question? Let us know in the comments below.

Is it safe to continue using the phone for a bit , and is it possible for the phone to blow up , or catch on fire?

I disagree. How do they get lcd screens to work in the first place? If it can be made to work by anyone it should be repairable. When I apply pressure to the screen where it is black I can move the black spot away and the pixels come back to life for a moment. Should be a way to like, glue it back down or something
