Unless you’re lucky enough to stumble upon a major sale, you’ll have trouble finding a laptop with solid specifications, such as a 256GB solid-state hard drive, a 1080p screen, and a fast, central processor for less than $600. However, the 599 Acer E15 (E5-576G-6762) offers Full HD display and generous SSD, with the Core i5 central processor and several Nvidia MX150 graphics.
While it offers all-day battery life, solid sound, a DVD player and a comfortable keyboard, the laptop does disappoint in some respects.
Here, we will take a closer look at all Acer features and specifications after E15.
FEATURES
Design
As with all the previous Aspire E laptops, the Aspire E15 has a very simple look. It is black and plastic with a bright silver accent on its Acer logo (on both sides of the screen), as well as the edge around the touch panel. Unlike laptops that offer 2-in-1 convertibles, this laptop has only one function mode, and its screen is not a touchscreen, which is one of the reasons it’s so affordable.
Also, the E15 has no shortage of ports with its combination of USB 3.0 ports, HDMI port, VGA port, LAN socket, security lock slot and USB type C port (which does not consume power). In addition, these are all seen on the left side.
There is an associated SD nursing memory unit on the left side of the front edge, and a USB 2.0 port, a phone jack, a power outlet, and a two-layer square DVD-RW drive on the right side. Moreover, this optical reader has been a rarity lately, as none of the laptops out there with the same specs offer one nowadays.
On-screen display
The 15.6-inch E15 laptop’s screen offers nice color but is lackluster in general. Certain shades can show clarity and vibrancy like golds and reds, but other neon colors like green or blue can become dull and boring.
The 1920×1080 panel offers user greater visibility and resolution which is great, and it does offer a great selection of in-built wallpapers. However, to a tintometer, the Aspire E only produces a maximum of 74% of the sRGB spectrum, which is below the class average of 89%.
In addition, the laptop emits up to 200 units of brightness, which is below the average of the 229 units of consumer laptops. The Aspire E15 is not enough to prevent its colors from fading when viewed from a 35-degree angle.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The backlit keyboard of the Aspire E15, equipped with a Variety Pad, offers typing comfort to the machine. Reviewers and tests have shown that the keyboard works at a rate of 77 words per minute, which is great for the average 80-wpm that is already out there.
The 4.1 x 3.0-inch E15 touchpad can closely accommodate every movement as you scribble and move on MS Paint. It is also able to correctly recognize the directional gestures of Windows 10, so you don’t have to worry about keyboard malfunctions or problems with using the touchpad. Sensitivity and smoothness are also pretty good, so you get a comfortable scrolling experience.
Audio
The speakers of the Acer Aspire E 15 make a lot of noise and we mean that in the best way. You can blast your favorite musical playlists at a reasonable volume level and still hear music across different rooms. Not only does the bass roar with proper depth, but you also get to enjoy audio-precision and great treble accuracy.
Webcam
The Aspire E15 comes with a 0.9-megapixel digital camera similar to the ones you’ll find in almost every laptop you find on the market. Of course, this isn’t really meant for professional photography. Moreover, taking pictures will only lead to blurry photos with less depth and definition. So, aside from the one or two Skype conversations, you might be aiming for, this webcam is functional and pretty decent.
Software
In addition to some useful proprietary applications, the Acer Aspire E15 comes with a little more bloatware than we can imagine with Windows PCs. Among Acer’s applications, the Care Center is the most useful. Also, this includes the System Info and Maintenance Utility Pack and Acer Recovery Management to create and manage backups.
The Acer access window gives access to 2 parameters.
The Bluelight feature protects against blue light (some say that minimizing blue light before daylight helps you fall asleep), while the Assist Technology chooses to turn off the USB ports to prevent devices from being powered up once the laptop is turned off. These two programs help prevent any overheating, poor functionality and battery issues.

Conclusion
For its price, you won’t be able to get the performance and options you get with the Aspire E5-576G-5762 in any other laptop out there. However, its weak display, bloatware performance, and bulk design can be drawbacks for the average person whose primary focus isn’t on a budget.
