What Are MHT Files?

MHT files are webpage archives. They are created when a browser like Chrome or Internet Explorer saves said webpage archives. Though the .mht extension can be used, these files are also often saved with the .mhtml extension. It stands for MIME HTML, and is used to keep HTML and some additional elements in one file. Regular HTML files can only contain text.

How can you open MHT files?

The easiest way to open files of this type is through the use of a browser. You can simply click on it and when prompted to choose a program to open it with, pick your browser of choice.

What programs work with MHT files?

Microsoft Word can be used to open MHTML Web archives, as can various different browsers including Chrome, Internet Explorer, Edge, Opera and more.
