More and more people are using Zoom not just for work but also for friends far away. Maybe you made friends in other countries during the pandemic and want to keep in touch.
To make the meeting even more fun, you can use the large variety of app Zoom offers. You can keep your guests entertained by having them play fun games that’ll get a good laugh out of them. Let’s see how Zoom Apps work.
How to Use Zoom Apps
You can have your participants interact with a built-in app in your Zoom meeting, thanks to Zoom apps. Simply start a Zoom meeting like you normally would. Click on the App option at the bottom right. A side window will appear where you’ll see the apps you’ll install, and the other tab is where you can search for add new apps.
In the Discover tab, you can try one of the listed apps. If you don’t see any apps you want to try, you can click on the link all the way at the bottom that’ll take you to the Zoom app marketplace, where you can search for more apps.
If you see an app on the Discover tab you want to try out, click on the app, followed by the blue add button. Zoom will open a tab on the browser you’re currently on, and you’ll need to sign in to your Zoom account. Once you’re in, you’ll need to authorize the app to access your Zoom account.
After that, the app will open on a side window of your Zoom meeting, where the fun can begin. Some games won’t let you try them unless you have a few people connected. This is a downside because what if you want to test out a game to see if it’s fun to include in a future Zoom meeting. But since you can’t try it out by yourself, you can’t know if it’s fun or not.
You can easily find them as you add apps to your Zoom account since they’ll be in the My Apps tab. You don’t have to use the app only in the side window; click on the expand option so the app can have more space.
When you’re done playing, you can make the window small by clicking on the collapse option.
Zoom App Marketplace
If you want to see all the apps you can enjoy on Zoom, you should go to the App Marketplace. You can search for the app by using the search bar at the top or clicking on any categories on your left.
There’s also a section called Work With. Click on the option you need the Zoom app to work with to quickly find the apps that fall into that category.
How to Uninstall a Zoom App
You tried the app out, but it wasn’t what you expected, or you just don’t need it anymore. Since it’s always better to remove the app than to continue to give it access to your information, it’s time to remove it. Uninstall the app you added log into your Zoom account by going to the official site. Once you’re signed in, click on the Advanced option on the left.
When you click on App Marketplace, you’ll be asked to agree to a few things. If you’re Ok with it and decide to continue, look for the Manage option to your left.
In the Manage option, you should see the app you gave permission to your Zoom account. To the right of the app, you should also see the Uninstall option.
If you don’t see all the apps you’ve installed following the previous steps, try going to Zooms App Marketplace. Sign in if you haven’t done so already and click on the Manage option at the top right. Then go to Installed Apps; the option will be to your left, and click on the uninstall button to the right of the apps you want to remove.
When you click on the Uninstall button, you’ll be asked to choose a reason as to why you’re removing the app. I didn’t like that you have to type the reason when you click on Other (since none of the listed reasons applied). You won’t see the blue uninstall button until you type the reason.
Using these apps can help you save a Zoom meeting from boredom. You have a large variety to choose from, and you can even search for them according to why you need them.
