How can you open TS files?
Video Transport Stream files can be opened by any normal DVD player, most computer-based media players can also read TS files. TS files can be converted into other video filetypes with a range of online and offline tools. TypeScript files can be opened and edited by any standard text editor or Integrated Development Environment (IDE) although specific proprietary software is available for free from Microsoft. QT Translation Source files can be created with a plugin in the QT Software Development Kit (SDK) they are integrated into other QT based software but they can’t just be opened like a document.
What programs work with TS files?
Most media players will be able to play Video Transport Stream files such as VLC or MPEG Streamclip. TS files can always be renamed to use the MPEG file extension as the file format is the same, this should let any media player read the file. Freemake Video Converter and EncodeHD are examples of software that can convert TS files into other video file formats such as MP4 and AVI. Online services such as Zamzar and FileZigZag can also convert TS files into other video formats although large video files may take time to upload and download.
QT Translation Source files can be created with the lupdate utility in the QT SDK, the TS file is then intended for use in other specific proprietary QT software for translation purposes. TS files can be converted into QT Phrase Book (QPH) files with the lconvert utility in the QT SDK, QPH files can be used by multiple QT applications.
