Files that use the file extension SFPACK are SFPack Compressed SoundFont (SF2) files. The SFPACK format is similar to other compressed filetypes like RAR and ZIP but is used specifically for compressing SF2 files. SF2 files are audio sample files generally used in software such as video games.
How can you open SFPACK files?
SFPACK files can be opened through the use of a free tool from Megota Software. Some other unzipping tools may be able to unzip SFPACK files. Once extracted the SF2 files can be opened with a number of audio players, the filetype is based on the WAV format so if a player can play WAV files it’s likely to be able to play SF2 files. SFPACK files in their compressed format can’t be converted to another format but the extracted SF2 format can be converted to other audio filetypes with most audio file converters.
What programs work with SFPACK files?
The free and portable software SFPack software from Megota Software can be used to reliably extract SFPACK files although the software is now no longer supported. Audio players such as SONAR from Cakewalk, MuseScore and KONTAKT can be used to play the SF2 audio file if you can extract it. Audio file type converters such as Xtrakk can convert extracted SF2 files into WAV format and from WAV into more common formats such as MP3.
