Optimizing Razer Phone 2 For Gamers

Optimizing Razer Phone 2 For Gamers

Posted on April 2, 2020 by Mona Leave a Comment

The Razer Phone 2 comes with a host of options. But it can be tough to decide which options are best for you and how you’ll be using your device. If you’re a gamer, this phone was basically made for you.

So let’s talk about how you can use it to your full advantage. Here are the best ways to optimize the Razer Phone 2 for hardcore gamers.

Extend Your Game Play Time

The last thing you want is for your game time to get cut short because your battery died. You want to make your game play last as long as possible. So the first thing you should do is change the background logo.

This is called Chroma, and you can change it so that it’s shown only when you receive notifications or are in conversation with someone. While it might look beautiful, it will quickly drain battery life and interrupt your winning streak.

It can be altered to one of three different settings. These include breathing, which will fade in and out continuously; static, which just stays the same all the time; and spectrum, which will continuously change the color scheme all the time.

Improve Game Display

A crisp, clear display can definitely improve your gaming experience. The Razer 2’s home-screen grid size can be adjusted. Razer 2 is designed to go to 60 Hz by default to save the battery. When the display is at 120 Hz you’ll notice an improvement in the display on your games.

Strangely enough the battery strength percentage is not shown by default. If you charge your phone every night then you should get through the day because the phone has 4,000 mAh of power. However, you can update it to show the percentage of battery you have left as you play.

Play Gaming Apps

Now for the stuff that true gamers will relish. The Razer Phone 2 is built with a Nova Launcher embedded within it as the default UI. It will give you incredible power and way more app options. And the library will store your games too. The Nova Launcher comes with a Cortex app. If you’re a gamer, this is the one you’ll probably be most interested in. They have tons of games and they switch them out often. You can actually get paid to play in credits towards Razer gear and discounts. Check out Razer’s games on the Featured app.

Customize Game Shortcuts and Settings

The Razer 2 comes with a Game Booster that alters the power management mode. It can let you set individual settings for specific games. Check out the theme store if you want to have a makeover which will give your gaming and  Razer themes a lift.

Gesture shortcuts can be customized as well. These can be used to launch applications and other interfaces, leading to a whole new world of possibilities. For instance, you can move the notification bar with a simple hand movement. Think of the possibilities for game play!

The Ultimate Gamers Phone

Razer 2 was built for true gamers. It is relatively easy to navigate and there are many great customization features available to you that will make using it a highly enjoyable experience.

But if you’re not taking the time to customize it for your gaming experience, you might be missing out. When you get your new phone, spend an hour or so familiarizing yourself with all the options. Trust me, you’ll thank me once you start gaming on your new phone.
