I purchased a Google Nexus 5X about two years ago. After 2 years of working flawlessly, I tried to restart it one day and it never booted all the way up again. It gets stuck in a bootloop where the Android logo appears and then the device restarts over and over.
Many Nexus 5X users have reported this same issue. So I contacted Google about the issue. They referred me to LG. To my surprise, LG said they will honor the warranty for 27 months on devices with the known bootloop issue.
In my case, I purchased the phone from the Google Store. So if you’re like me, head on over to the LG Mobile Repair website and request a repair.
If you are a Nexus 5X owner and user of Project Fi with device protection, you may be able to get a replacement from Google.
