New to You on YouTube: Why It’s Worth a Look Into

Posted on September 25, 2021 by Judy Sanhz Leave a Comment

When YouTube recommends a video you like, it can save you a lot of searching time. The videos it suggests may not always be the best, but YouTube tries its best so you’re not shown videos you couldn’t care less about.

YouTube has a feature that aims to recommend videos you’ll like. Sure, you’ll see the standard recommendations, but you’ll have these other options as well. This option is available on both your mobile devices and on the web version. Let’s see what this service has to offer.

What Does New to You on YouTube Have to Offer?

If you think you’ve watched just about everything YouTube has recommended, try looking in New to You. Here’s where you’ll see fresh YouTube content to watch about topics that interest you. The Explore Feed is more personalized, but New to You will also offer the content you might like.

New to You will be helpful if you’ve been looking to expand on the channels you’re already subscribed to. This is where you’ll find videos from videos that share the same theme, but you won’t see new videos from channels you’re already subscribed to.

How to Use YouTube New to You on Android

To find New to You on the Android app, make sure you’re on the Home tab. After that, swipe left on the Explore section until you see the New to You option. When you tap on it, you’ll see a large variety of new videos for you to watch.

To access New to You on your computer, go to YouTube and click on the Next option at the top right. It looks like an arrow pointing right. New to You will be the last option on the list.

If you regularly watch YouTube and notice that the New to You button doesn’t look like it did in the beginning, that means it’s loading up on new content. When the button looks like in the image above, there is new content waiting for you.

New to You is helpful if you don’t feel like searching for videos; the feature searches for you. Remember that if you see a video, you’re not interested in, you can always mark it as not interested. You can do this by tapping on the dots to the side of the video and choosing the Not Interested option.

Conclusion

It’s always better to watch videos you like without having to look for them. Thanks to the New to You option, all you have to do is go to that section and start watching the recommended videos.
