If you’ve upgraded Apple iTunes to the latest and greatest version of the software, you may find that you cannot access the software after restarting your computer. Windows users often encounter an error that says “This version of iTunes is corrupt or not installed correctly, please reinstall iTunes.”
Something obviously went wrong during the upgrade process if this happened to you. The easiest way to solve it would be to follow these steps.
- Unplug any Apple devices from the computer such as iPods, iPhones or iPads.
- Open “Control Panel“.
- Open “Programs” > “Programs and Features“.
- Find “iTunes” in the list, then right-click the entry and select “Repair“.
Your iTunes installation should then repair. After it’s complete, restart your computer and the software should once again work with all of your data intact.
