When you try to install Apple iTunes on your Windows PC, you get an error that matches or is similar to the following:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\crazynumber\iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid Win 32 application.
To try to fix this issue, preform the following steps.
Delete all of the versions of the iTunes installation program from your computer. Get rid of any file that says “iTunes Setup” in it. Then download a new copy. When prompted, Save the file to the Desktop instead of running or opening the file.
Internet Explorer users may need to clear the file from their temp files. To do so open Internet Explorer, then select “Tools” > “Delete Browsing History” > “Delete files…” > “Yes” > “Close“, then close IE. From there, open IE, then download a new copy of the iTunes setup file.
