Make the font bigger on your Apple iPhone 6 smartphone or iPad tablet by increasing the font size with just a few simple steps. Doing so will make the characters bigger and easier to read.
To access the font setting, follow these steps:
- Open the “Settings” app from the Home screen.
- Select “General“.
- Tap “Accessibility“.
- Select “Larger Text“.
- Set “Larger Accessibility Sizes” to “On” (green).
- Drag the slider at the bottom of the screen to a desired size.
Now the text should be a different size in many apps and within the iOS system.
Note: If you wish to make the text bold, you can also enable “Bold Text” under “Settings” > “General” > “Accessibility”.
The font is still too small for me? Is there anything I can do?
Try using the Zoom feature. You can enable the Zoom feature setting under “Settings” > “General” > “Accessibility“, then set “Zoom” to “On“. After that setting is enabled, you can double-tap with three fingers to enable zoom mode, then drag three fingers up and down on the screen to zoom in and out as desired.
Why hasn’t the font in some of my apps hasn’t changed after changing this setting?
Most of the apps included with the Apple iOS will support the setting, but many of the third-party apps you download from the app store will not care for this setting. Some apps may have their own font settings. Try checking the settings within the app or check to see if there are separate settings listed on the “General” > “Settings” screen.
