If you do not wish for others to be able to see your number appear on their caller ID display when placing a call from your Apple iPhone, you can disable it. Just follow these steps.
- From the Home screen select “Settings“.
- Scroll down and choose “Phone“.
- Toggle “Show My Caller ID” to “On” or “Off” as desired.
Now the people you call will not be able to see your number on their caller ID display. They will instead see your number show as “Private” or “Restricted”.
If you don’t see the “Caller ID” setting on your phone or you can’t toggle it, your carrier may have it disabled. You can often find other ways to disable caller ID if this is the case. For example, Verizon customers can dial “*67“ followed by the number you are dialing to block caller ID. Visit your carrier’s website for more information.
Caller ID cannot be disabled for Facetime calls.
