iPadOS 15: How to Create Group Tabs in Safari to Stay Organized

Posted on October 5, 2021 by Judy Sanhz Leave a Comment

When you’re online, you try to get as much done as possible. That usually results in you opening so many tabs that you have a hard time finding a specific tab. Just like on Chrome that lets you group tabs in groups; you can do the same on Safari.

You can create groups where you can put all the tabs about a specific topic. That way, when you need to find TechniPages, you know it’s going to be in the Tech group. Don’t worry if you’re not very tech-savvy; creating these tab groups on Safari is easy. Here are the steps you’ll need to follow.

How to Group Safari Tabs Together – iPasOS 15

Grouping the tabs you have open on Safari is a great way to stay organized. First, you’ll need to create a group. You can do this by long-pressing on the first tab you’ll be adding. A small window with different options will appear. Tap on the Move to Tab Group option.

In the following window, you’ll see the New Tab Group option. Tap on this option and name your first tab group, and tap on the Move option to make things final. The first tab you entered will be all alone in the group. You can tell that the group was created because you’ll see the group name at the top left of your display. Now it’s time to add more tabs to this tab group.

You can go about adding more tabs to your newly created group by tapping on the plus icon at the top right and going to a site. Or, you can also add a tab you’ve had open previously by taping on the icon to the left of the group’s name, side bar icon.

When the side window slides out, tap on the iPad icon that to the side will let you know how many tabs you left open.

To the right, you’ll see all the tabs you still have open. Long-press on the tab you want to move and tap on the Move to Tab Group option. To make the move final, simply choose the name of the group you want the tab in. If you think it’s time for a new tab group, you’ll also see the option to create a new one.

When moving a tab, you’ll also see an option to Arrange the Tabs By. You can choose to arrange your tabs by title or by website.

When you have different tabs all over the place, finding where the tech tabs are can be challenging. You could open the tabs one by one, but that’s going to take forever. By having them organized in groups, you can find a specific tab a lot quicker. Do you group your tabs for an easy find?
