Follow this tutorial if you wish to eject or insert a SIM card in the Apple iPhone 5. You may want to do this if you are swapping phones or will be selling the device and wish to keep the SIM card.
Ejecting the SIM Card
1. Power off the iPhone 5 by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until the “Slide to power off” option appears on the screen. Slide the Power button from left to right.
2. Locate the SIM eject hole on the right side of the device.
3. Insert a paper clip into the hole and push until the SIM card slot ejects.
Note: The first time we ejected the SIM card, we had to use a bit more force than we thought we had to.
Inserting the SIM Card
Place the SIM card into the tray, and insert it back into the slot until you hear it snap into place.
Why won’t my SIM Card fit into the slot?
The iPhone 5 utilizes what is called a “Nano SIM Card”. It may be different from the type of SIM card you’re trying to insert. Any non Nano SIM card is not supported with the iPhone 5.
