Google Slides: How to Delete Single Slide

Google Slides: How to Delete Single Slide

Posted on March 18, 2020 by Mel Hawthorne 2 Comments

Google Slides are a great alternative to Office PowerPoint. It has all the same functions and is available online on just about any platform – complete with the ability to delete individual slides from your presentation.

There are three ways to delete a slide from a presentation. All of them work both for single slides and a selection of them. To select multiple slides at once, click on one of them, hold down the Ctrl key and then click on the others.

  1. Right-click and Delete

The easiest way to delete a slide is to right-click on it. A menu will appear and on it an option to Delete it. It’s as simple as clicking on it to remove the slide in question.

  1. Delete key

Click on one of the slides on the left-hand side – the one you want to delete. Then, press the Delete key on your keyboard.

Tip: Be careful to select the right slide, because whichever one you have selected at the time will be deleted!

  1. Delete via the menu

If you want to use your ribbon menu to delete an individual slide, click on the Edit option and then on Delete. The slide you have selected will be deleted.

Tip: If you want to delete your entire file rather than just some of the slides, click on the File option in your ribbon menu and select Move to trash. Doing so will put your entire file there, although you get an option to undo it if you click the button by accident.
