Google Docs: How to Easily Add an Image Watermark

Google Docs: How to Easily Add an Image Watermark

Posted on December 10, 2021 by Judy Sanhz Leave a Comment

Many users had to turn to Google Drawings to create a watermark for their files for a long time. You’ll be happy to know that you can add an image as a watermark without having to use any other apps.

The process is easier than you think, and you can also make changes to your image watermark. You can still use Google Drawing to create your watermark. Still, since Google Docs finally added the feature, it’s not an obligation.

How to Add an Image Watermark to Any Google Docs File

To add an image watermark to your Google Docs file, make sure you have the right document open. Once that’s done, click on the Insert tab at the top and choose the watermark option.

To the right, click on where it says Insert Image. You can insert an image for your new watermark from sources such as Google Drive, Photos, Google Image Search, By URL, Camera, and upload.

You can add the image watermark to an existing document or a new one. On the side, there are also options to adjust the scale of the image and fade the image. By adding the fade effect, you can easily see the text in the document, but by removing the option, it might be challenging to read the text.

Edit Image Watermark

Remember that this can only be done on the desktop version and not on the Android app.  The image you put can have the logo of your company or your personal logo, so others will think twice before stealing the file.

If you’re going to add the watermark to a file, make sure you add the text first and then the watermark.

Conclusion

Now that Google Docs has the built-in option to add an image watermark, you don’t have to waste time elsewhere creating one. The steps are easy to follow, so even if you’re new to Google Docs, you’ll be able to add your watermark. How often do you think you’re going to use this feature? Let me know in the comments below, and don’t forget to share the article with others on social media.
