Galaxy Tab 4: Clear Browser History, Cache, & Cookies

By Mitch Bartlett 7 Comments

If you’re concerned about privacy, you may want to clear history, cache, and cookies from the Internet browser app on your Samsung Galaxy Tab 4. Doing so will disable somebody’s ability to snoop in on what web pages you’ve been looking at in the unfortunate event that somebody accesses your tablet without you knowing.

Internet App

  1. Open the “Internet” browser app.
  2. Select the “Menu” Menu icon icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  3. Choose “Settings“.
  4. Select “Privacy” in the left pane.
  5. Select “Delete personal data“.
  6. Check the following items as desired:
    • Browsing history
    • Cache
    • Cookies and site data
    • Passwords
    • Auto fill data
    • Location access
  7. Select “Done“, and the data will be cleared.

Chrome App

  1. Open the “Chrome” browser app.
  2. Select the “Menu” Menu icon icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  3. Choose “Settings“.
  4. Select “Privacy” in the left pane.
  5. Select the “Menu” Menu icon icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  6. Choose “Clear browsing data“.
  7. Check the following items as desired:
    • Clear browsing history
    • Clear the cache
    • Clear cookies, site data
    • Clear saved Passwords
    • Clear autofill data
  8. Select “Clear“, and the data will be cleared.

This is not helping at all because my tab says privacy and account together and when I click that there is no option to clear history or anything ?

Exactly same issue as Grant. But guess since you’ve not responded in nearly a year, it’s just a little too tricky for a guru like you.

    So not really helpful

    Thank you Mitch,

Like said in earlier post, you give clear concise information that is easy for a novice user.

    Thank you so much
This is one of the few sites that knows how to give clear and simple instructions.
You should tackle other issues as well…..which are confounded by arrogance or narcisissom.

Have a tab 4. Have done as you suggest to clear Brower history etc, however when I go on chrome and start typing g a search the black suggestion bar above the on screen keyboard still shows history searches. How do I clear this or get rid of it?
