Galaxy Note8 Stuck at “Sign in to Wi-Fi” Screen

By Mitch Bartlett Leave a Comment

I recently experienced a problem with my Samsung Galaxy Note8 where it would stick at the “Sign in to Wi-Fi network” screen when attempting to login to a public guest wireless network. I found a workaround to this issue. Just try these steps.

  1. Install Firefox. We will only use it temporarily, then it can be removed.
  2. From the Home screen, slide up your apps and open “Settings” > “Apps” > “ Menu” > “Default apps“.
  3. Tap “Browser app“, then set your default browser app to “Firefox“.
  4. Now go back to the “Sign in to Wi-Fi Network” screen. It will fail again, but this time, select “Menu” > “Open in browser“.

You should now be allowed to login to the wireless network.
