I recently experienced a problem with my Samsung Galaxy Note8 where it would stick at the “Sign in to Wi-Fi network” screen when attempting to login to a public guest wireless network. I found a workaround to this issue. Just try these steps.
- Install Firefox. We will only use it temporarily, then it can be removed.
- From the Home screen, slide up your apps and open “Settings” > “Apps” > “
Menu” > “Default apps“.
- Tap “Browser app“, then set your default browser app to “Firefox“.
- Now go back to the “Sign in to Wi-Fi Network” screen. It will fail again, but this time, select “Menu” > “Open in browser“.
You should now be allowed to login to the wireless network.
