If you want to connect your Samsung Galaxy Note 5 with developer tools such as Android Studio, you will need to enable USB Debugging. Follow these steps to get your device going and start writing apps.
Enabling “Developer Options” Selection
- From the Home screen, select “Apps“.
- Choose the “Settings” option.
- Select “About phone“.
- Tap “Build number” repeatedly until a message appears that says “You are now a developer“.
Turning Developer Options On
If you performed the steps above, under “Apps” > “Settings” > “System“, there will be a “Developer options” selection. Select it. From there, switch “USB debugging” to “On“.

Is there a way to do this from a command line? Our phone LCD died but the phone is otherwise working properly. I could try guessing at what to tap on the various screens but I’d rather do this from a command line interface if possible. Any suggestions?
TIA,
Mike
