Facebook: How to Get Birthday Notifications

Facebook: How to Get Birthday Notifications

Posted on April 4, 2022 by Madalina Dinita 2 Comments

Keeping track of your friends’ birthdays is not an easy task. If you’re on Facebook, you can set up birthday alerts to ensure you don’t miss anyone’s birthday. The social media platform can send you quick notifications of upcoming birthdays and belated birthdays.

How to Set up Birthday Notifications on Facebook

Follow the steps below to set up birthday alerts on Facebook.

  1. Go to Settings & Privacy
  2. Click on Notifications in the left-hand pane
  3. Then, scroll down to Birthdays
  4. Enable notifications for friends’ birthdays

You can further customize your birthday notifications by choosing where you want to receive them. There are three options available: push, email, and SMS. If you go on Facebook at least once or twice every day, enable push notifications. If you’re not that active on the social media platform, email and SMS notifications are a better option.

Make sure to enable the option that triggers notifications for upcoming birthdays. In this manner, you won’t miss your friends’ special days. You don’t want to send them belated birthday wishes.

Of course, if your friends are not on Facebook or they have a habit of disabling and re-enabling their Facebook accounts, then the best solution is to use a calendar to keep track of their birthdays.

⇒ Quick Tip: If you don’t want to get hundreds of birthday messages from people you’ve never seen in your life, you can tweak your privacy settings and prevent Facebook from announcing your birthday. Or you can make your birthday visible only to friends.

Conclusion

Facebook can send you notifications about your friends’ upcoming birthdays. To enable this option, go to Notification Settings, select Birthdays, and simply toggle on notifications for friends’ birthdays. Then, select where you want to receive the birthday notifications.
