Facebook: How to Check Who Unfriended You

Facebook: How to Check Who Unfriended You

Posted on March 31, 2022 by Madalina Dinita Leave a Comment

The simple thought of someone unfriending you on Facebook is enough to make you feel uncomfortable. But before you start asking yourself questions such as “What have I done wrong?“, “Why did they unfriend me?” you need to check the facts. Let’s see how you can know if someone unfriended you on Facebook.

How Do I Know Who Unfriended Me on Facebook?

Manually Check Your List of Friends

The quickest way to check who unfriended you on Facebook is to go through your friends’ list and check who’s missing. If you have under 100 Facebook friends and you regularly interact with them, you should be able to quickly spot who’s not on the list. Of course, if you have hundreds or thousands of friends, that’s like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Visit Their Profile

Alternatively, you can simply visit that person’s profile and check if they’re still on Facebook. Then, check your connection status to see if you’re still friends. If the info is not available, this may indicate they unfriended you.

Check the Chat

If you’ve ever talked to them via Messenger, their photo should be blank after unfriending you. Check your chat history. If you see any blank profile photos, they either unfriended you or deleted their Facebook account.

Just Ask

You can also ask a common friend if that person is still active on Facebook. Or you can simply send them a message and ask them if they recently changed their account settings or deactivated their account altogether. If you can’t see their posts, this may simply indicate they changed their privacy settings. That doesn’t necessarily mean they unfriended you. Some people have a habit of deactivating and reactivating their Facebook accounts.

Don’t be afraid to ask. The worst thing that can happen is them ignoring you.

Move On, Don’t Hold a Grudge

There are various reasons why someone may have unfriended you on Facebook. Maybe they’re planning to quit Facebook soon. Some people keep deactivating and reactivating their accounts. Or maybe they simply changed their account privacy settings. Either way, the best solution is to move on.

Conclusion

Facebook doesn’t notify you when someone unfriends you. To see who unfriended you, go to your friends’ list and check who’s missing. Additionally, go to that person’s Facebook profile and check if they’re still active on Facebook. Maybe they simply changed their privacy settings or deactivated their account. Or you can simply ask them if they changed their account settings recently.
